Konstantin Sobol, the new ambassador of Odessa in Greece


On May 15 , 2024, the meeting of the Committee for the Selection and Appointment of Ambassadors of the city of Odessa was held in order to elect the new ambassador of the city to other countries.


During the meeting, Mr. Konstantin Sobol was elected as the ambassador of Odessa to Greece, specifically to the city of Piraeus.


The mayor of Odesa , Gennadiy Trukhanov, sent an open letter to the mayor of Piraeus, Mr. Yiannis Moralis, regarding the election of Mr. Sobol, who, in turn, heartily accepted it.


As an ambassador between the two cities and by extension the two spaces, he will contribute to the improvement of relations between Greece and Ukraine as well as to the development of international, commercial, humanitarian and cultural cooperation.

Both Odessa and Piraeus are members of the International Black Sea Club (IBSC) which was founded in 1992 in Odessa and is a non-governmental organization with the aim of promoting commercial and cultural cooperation between its member countries.


Piraeus is the third city that participates in this club after Thessaloniki and Kavala.
